Congratulations to Team Red Cross runner Jessica Jones, who this past weekend hit her fundraising goal!
Jessica raised nearly $2,000 Friday night at Jo’s Nautical Bar in Hull. There, she asked for a $20 suggested donation at the door, sold raffle tickets, offered food – some of it donated by Schooners, while her brother-in-law deejayed.
“I was so touched by the amount of people alone that came out to support [me], and then when I did a quick tally at the end of the night and could announce that they all helped me achieve my $4,000 goal – I could not have been happier. This has been such a great experience,” she said.
Her sister won a 50/50 raffle that night and donated it back to Jessica. Jessica’s other fundraising efforts included Facebook and email outreach, and a Stella & Dot jewelry trunk show last month. There, stylist Heather Stevens donated 75 percent of her commission to Jessica’s fundraising event. She was then allotted nearly $400 in free jewelry, which she used to pick up a necklace and bangles to use as raffle prizes last weekend.
Congrats, Jessica!
