Plymouth couple deployed to Colorado to assist wildfire victims

Meet Bob and Betty Hartman.

This couple from Plymouth have deployed with the American Red Cross to assist those currently affected by the wildfires of Colorado.

The Hartmans, both Red Cross volunteers, have a specialty in disaster mental health – and with thousands dealing with the trauma of sudden evacuation and the uncertainty a fire can bring, their work is needed.

Thousands of people are still unable to go home as wildfires continue to scorch several western states. More than 100 people spent Sunday night in ten Red Cross shelters in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.

Hundreds of disaster workers are helping people in Colorado, where the largest fires continue to burn.

Support American Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Your gift enables us to provide safe refuge in our shelters, feed those who have had to leave their homes, and offer comfort to those touched by disaster across the country and around the world.
