Red Cross volunteers take part in Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen

This blog post is authored by Karen Callwood, a volunteer with the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts.

The 3rd Annual Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen is a memorial motorcycle ride that will take place on July 21. The ride is in honor of Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos and other fallen heroes of Cape Cod. The ride will start at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility and will then go down the Cape Cod Canal to Route 6A into Dennis where the participants will be riding past Nick’s house. The ride will end at the Flax Pond Recreation Area in Yarmouth.

The American Red Cross will be meeting up at the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office located outside the Main Gate of Otis ANG Base. Our volunteers will be handing out bottles of water to the participants before the ride from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
