Learning about the food pantry

After serving 547 families at the food pantry on Saturday, Boston Red Cross food pantry members had another opportunity to pitch in.

A group of 60 eighth graders from Tampa Florida was looking for an opportunity to learn. So after closing shop for the day, volunteers and staff invited the students in for an hour to hear about hunger relief, how the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts works to alleviate suffering in that arena.

Students also learned about the benefits of volunteering.

Want to volunteer? Whether at our food pantry, at disaster scenes or in an office, we have a need for your skills. Check out some of the opportunities at RedCross.Org.
