Generosity abounds at CBS Boston Cares

Kesnel Heff

Kesnel Neff has always wanted to give back.

Neff was in Haiti in 2010 when an earthquake shook the country. He remembers the devastation, and the Red Cross’ work to support those impacted.

At CBS Boston Cares at Government Center on Friday afternoon, Neff was able to help the American Red Cross help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

“I was there in Haiti, and I want to give back to the Red Cross,” he said as he handed over a cash donation to an American Red Cross volunteer.

CBS is sponsoring an all-day fundraiser at three locations, including the Market Street Dunkin Donuts in Brighton, the Route 128 rest area in Newton and at City Hall Plaza in Boston. CBS radio and television stations are there with Red Cross volunteers to collect donations for  Sandy relief.

CBS Boston Cares will run until 6 tonight.
