CBS Cares raises $23k for disaster relief

In 12 hours, at three different locations, generous and mostly anonymous donors and came forward to raise $23,000 for Red Cross disaster relief.

CBS Boston brought TV and radio to City Hall Plaza, Dunkin Donuts in Brighton and the Route 128 rest area in Newton for CBS Cares. There, they helped American Red Cross volunteers collect donations from generous strangers looking to help out.

In New York and New Jersey this weekend, swarms of volunteers are handing out thousands of bags stuffed with relief items like cleaning, hygiene and comfort items. A fundraiser like this will go a long way in funding this effort, and we are forever grateful to the generous people in Eastern Massachusetts.

Thank you for all of the support!
