It’s National Hurricane Preparedeness Week – Be ready for anything

Are you prepared for a hurricane?

Today is Day 3 of National Hurricane Preparedness Week, which this year runs from May 26th through June 1st, and the National Hurricane Center of the NOAA is here to keep us aware and ready.

The NOAA has educated citizens on hurricanes is through seven informative videos (one for each day of Hurricane Preparedness Week) centered on informing citizens, encouraging disaster planning and taking action.  Each of the videos, while only 1-2 minutes long, are filled with important, life saving information that helps people understand the components of a hurricane and how to stay informed, how to make a plan and when to take action.

Hurricanes can take many forms and include several different elements, so it is essential that you and your loved ones are ready before a storm comes.  If there is one thing to take away from all the information the NOAA has provided, it’s that staying aware and being  ready is crucial to reducing the effects of a hurricane.
