Reylon Yount’s Cambridge apartment building may have caught fire today, but he was left feeling pretty lucky.
At first, he wasn’t sure what possessions he would have left. He was just happy everyone was okay.
He couldn’t believe it when firefighters pulled out his Chinese dulcimer – completely unscathed.
“It was underneath a window firefighters had to smash out in the apartment,” Yount said. “If this was fine, I’m hopeful.”
Firefighters on June 5 took down a blaze on Harvard Street in Cambridge. Eight units were affected.
Volunteers are still on scene making sure everyone has a place to sleep, money for food and clothing, and other basic needs.
