Say Hello to Colonel Doonan

Ginger DoonanJoin the Cape Cod Community College in welcoming Colonel Virginia Doonan as Commencement Speaker for the graduating class of 2014!

Col. Doonan entered the Air Force in 1986 and has since then climbed the leadership ladder to her current role as  Executive Deputy Director (Air) at Otis Air Force Base. Her day-to-day tasks are to oversee strategic management and base operating support. She also works with a department centralized in identifying opportunities for development of future business plans with the community and renewable energy opportunities.

Col. Doonan holds an undergraduate degree in Professional Aeronautics at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as well as a Master of Education degree from Lesley College. She sits on our Cape Cod & Islands Board of Directors.

More than 20 Services to Armed Forces and International Services volunteers are getting schooled in Worcester today.

This is the first ever statewide SAF/IS training, and will make our programs that much better.

SAF rocks out in JP

JP Music HourAmerican Red Cross volunteers today brought a little melody to the Jamaica Plain VA hospital for the Service to Armed Forces [SAF]  Music Hour.

There, they jammed out, sucked down some cider and indulged in some treats. Sounds awesome, right?

Did you miss it? Worry not. They’ll be back Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m., and at the Brockton VA on Dec. 10.

The Red Cross’ Service to Armed Forces is thrilled to welcome Col. James M. LeFavor as the new Commander of the 102nd Intelligence Wing.

Col. Patrick J. Cobb will formally relinquish command of the Wing to Colonel LeFavor in a change-of-command ceremony at the Massachusetts Air National Guard tomorrow afternoon. Brig. Gen. Gary W. Keefe, Commander, Massachusetts Air National Guard, will preside over tomorrow’s ceremony.

Colonel LeFavor is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He has served Desert Fox, Southern Watch and Noble Eagle. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel LeFavor was the Vice Wing Commander of the 102nd Intelligence Wing.
